Meridian Gymnastics Competitive Team

Meridian Gymnastics offers USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic (Levels 1-10) and Prep Optional team programs. Our team program begins with developmental Levels 1-4 in what we call our "Levels Program." In these levels, the gymnasts work the skills and routines set forth by USA Gymnastics. This program allows for athletes to progress up through Level 4, all the while remaining non-sanctioned. Levels 2, 3, and 4 may attend a couple of non-sanctioned competitions during the season. After that, gymnasts would then be eligible to move to either the sanctioned compulsory team at Level 4, or the PREP Optional program.
The sanctioned compulsory team consists of Levels 4-6. These levels are progressive in nature, building upon the skills required at the previous level. Competitive opportunities are provided up to and including the State Cup (Level 4) and the USA Gymnastics State Championships (Levels 5 & 6).
The optional team consists of Levels 7-10. Levels 7 and 8 have difficulty restrictions, while Levels 9 and 10 have no restrictions in the skill choice. Level 7 has competitive opportunities up to and including the USA Gymnastics State Championships. Additional competitive opportunities are provided for Levels 8-10, with the Level 8 competitive season culminating at the Regional Championships, Level 9 at the Eastern Championships, and Level 10 at the Jr. Olympic National Championships.
PREP Optional is a sanctioned competitive program for gymnasts who seek an alternative to the JO Levels program. There are five progressive divisions: Rookie, Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, and Superior. This program is ideal for those athletes who also do other sports.
